Only one month after the film's theatrical release in Japan, The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles (JFLA) will hold two admission-free screenings of "Cinema Kabuki One Piece" at TCL Chinese 6 Theatres on November 27. The two-hour film released in Japan October 22 shows a Tokyo Shinbashi Enbujo performance of "Super Kabuki II One Piece" last fall, featuring 40-year-old kabuki actor Ennosuke Ichikawa IV as Monkey D. Luffy, Boa Hancock and Shanks. The kabuki adaptation covers the Battle for Marineford/War of the Best arc in Eiichiro Oda's original One Piece manga story.
In addition to the screenings, the organizer will also set up a cosplay corner outside the theater, where you can try on the costumes of the One Piece characters, including Monkey.D.Luffy, Roronoa.Zoro, Trafalgar Law, Tony Tony Chopper, Portgas.D.Ace. The most popular selfie taken in front of their special Japan Foundation backdrop and uploaded on Twitter with the hashtag #onepiecekabuki will win all of the cosplay pieces. And you can also take photos with professional One Piece cosplayers.
